What is the HIV 4th Generation (blood sample) Home Test Kit?
The HIV antibody test is a simple blood test which detects the presence of antibodies to HIV 1 and HIV 2. The HIV antibody is a protein naturally produced in the body in response to an infection by the HIV. The antibody screening test is important because it provides you with an early indication that you have been infected with the HIV. Early indication can help minimize the likelihood of developing an illness related to AIDS.

What is the HIV  4th generation self test result?
A positive test result shows that the antibody has been found in your blood. If the person is tested positive, He / She need to contact to the physician immediately for confirmation of HIV by ELISA or Western Blot. Proper Counseling and help of person's physician, conversion time of HIV into AIDS can be enhanced on health diet, Vitamin and medications.

A negative result at 28 days is good news but it is not conclusive. The guidelines of World Health Organization (WHO) say that an early negative result at 28 days (1 month) needs to be confirmed with a second test 90 days (3 months) after the exposure.

However you need to know that the antibody test is not a test for the disease AIDS – it does not tell you if you have AIDS. It will only show whether you have come into contact with the virus which may cause AIDS.

What is HIV?
HIV is a virus that causes a chronic but treatable infection. There is currently no cure but with medication and therapy works so can those who have HIV can live as long as anyone. An untreated HIV infection, however, life threatening. Therefore it is important to get tested so that treatment can be initiated as early as possible.

The risk that someone infect HIV to another person is the greatest the first months after infection before treatment could be initiated. Then the viral load high while the person with HIV do not yet know about it. HIV can be transmitted through unprotected anal, vaginal and oral intercourse or through sharing injecting equipment with someone who has HIV. The virus can also be transmitted during pregnancy, childbirth or breastfeeding. HIV can not be transmitted by social contacts.

Today's HIV treatment is so effective that it is possible to reduce the amount of virus to barely measurable levels. Then transfer the risk of sexual contact is almost nonexistent. The risk that the virus is transmitted from mother to child during pregnancy or childbirth is very low if treatment is started early. How risk looks at the sharing of syringes is less clear in the current situation. However, the assessment is that a stable and well HIV treatment significantly reduces the risk of transmission.

Protect yourself and others
A person can have HIV without knowing it. Condoms are a good way to protect yourself and others against HIV and other sexually transmitted infections. Never share needles with anyone. Positive (HIV infection):
Colored lines are visible in the control region and the test region. This means that infection by HIV is likely. As with a laboratory test it needs to be confirmed with a secondary test before a diagnosis can be made. Therefore it is very important that, in case of a positive result, another test is made at a clinic.

The intensity of the color of the lines varies due to different concentrations of HIV antibodies but also other blood values and therefore no meaning is attributed to line color intensity or width.

Negative (No HIV infection):
One colored line is visible in the control region and no colored line in the test region. This means that no HIV infection was detected.

Invalid:
There are no colored lines or only a colored line in the test region. The most common reason for an invalid test result is that the test procedure was not carried out properly.
